ART MINT SILVER CHESS SET WITH 32 PIECES LIMITED EDITION BEAUTIFUL WORK OF CRAFTMANSHIP. While that was a large base metal piece that really stretched the limits of being called a coin, this new issue from Parisian producer, Art Mint, is very much a coin in the traditional sense. Weighing in at two ounces of 0.999 fine silver, it nevertheless still reaches an impressive 63 mm in diameter, which makes its party trick all the more practical. The reverse face of the coin features a coloured replica of a chess board at its centre. Supplied with the coin are 32 miniature chess pieces, all formed in base metal and displaying an astonishing amount of detail for their size. Its perfectly capable, unless you have giant sausage fingers like mine, to play a game of chess on the coin. The rest of this face is comprised of a border that flows all around the coin and contains a pattern of pawns. In the spaces left between the circular border and square chess board, there lies a kings crown motif. The antique finish is a fine compliment to the traditional black & white chess board pattern. The obverse of this Nuie issued item carries the usual inscribed information near the edge, along with the Ian Rank Broadley effigy. To the left of the effigy sits a king chess-piece, strangely fitting in its own way. As you can see from the images further down, this is a striking and unusual issue, covering a subject that has little representation in the numismatic world. Art Mint coins are universally amongst the best produced out there, so if the coin strikes a chord with you, youll have little to worry about on quality grounds. It comes presented in a neat box that could double as a miniature diasif you actually did want to play chess on the coin. A certificate of authenticity is also included and there will only be 500 of these produced. The mini chess pieces are kept together in a small pouch. CHESS Chess is a two-player strategy board game played on a chessboard, a checkered gameboard with 64 squares arranged in an 88 grid. The game is played by millions of people worldwide. STAR WARS CHESS SET with pewter pieces. LIMITED EDITION 1 of 300 by Gentle Giant. The complete set is in fantastic condition but if you want to look really really closely this is what you will find.. Missing the inlay foam in one of the draws which holds the gold figures. A couple of the figures light sabres or gun ends are a little bent but as they are soft metal they should be an easy fix. The wings of the TIE fighters have fallen off in the past and have been glued back in place. The board itself has a couple of small cracks in the corners. STILL A FANTASTIC, RARE VERY HEAVY! Here we have a beautiful Blenko Special Order Ruby Chess piece #1516. New from the Blenko factory, this is part of a special order we put in with Blenko. Our original order was 20 but the first batch only got us 13 first quality. This is from the second batch and it does have a slight brownish tint to it in the light. See all pictures closely. When displayed in normal indoor light and strangely in natural sunlight the brown tint is not so obvious. The photography light is the one that brings out the orangish brown tint in the curved areas. Please see all pictures closely for exact item you will receive. We got a few more this time that are considered first quality but not many to sell as most were already promised to other collectors who missed out the first time around. The only issue I can see is a small dot of unmelted glass that I have pictured for your consideration. Not at all uncommon in hand made beauties. Though Blenko could at some point add these to their regular line in ruby I dont see it likely since they have trouble getting the color right. Dont miss your chance to have one in your collection!
